At MartyBoy Kennels we take great pride in our dogs. Our main focus is maintaining and preserving a game, sound, functional
bloodline. We do not advocate, indulge, or participate in ANY form of animal cruelty. On this website the term "game" or "the
game" is periodically used and meant to be construed as any of the bull and terrier breeds as well as "the fraternity" or
"the fancy" of dog owners. Please take a minute and sign the guestbook.

Gameness
- The exact definition of "gameness" really depends on who you ask. However, most true pit bull fanciers
can agree that this is one of the most important traits the breed possesses, and without gameness, the dog
is just a shell of what it should be. In the most general sense of the term, gameness can be described as "an unwillingness
to give up, even under the most difficult of circumstances and despite the threat of injury or death." True pit bull breeders
strive to preserve this trait in their dogs and insist that the only way to preserve "real" gameness is in the fighting pit.
This is untrue. However, modern society and humane attitudes dictate that we look to other ways to preserve the trait
of gameness of this breed. Breeders would do well to come together and unite in common agreement as to what can be done LEGALLY
to preserve this most noble of breeds before it is too late and the true working pit bull is just a memory of the past. (Understand
that gameness does NOT, in any way, equal dog aggresion.)
